The government have approved a redress scheme for mother & baby home survivors. The scheme provides for a general payment scheme for mothers who spent time in one of the 14 mother and baby homes or any of the State County Homes within the Republic of Ireland. The scheme also applies to children who spent time in such homes, however, there is a minimum residency for the child of a requirement of six months applicable to meet eligibility criteria.
The following is the table of proposed payments for the Mother and Baby schemes:
